Cookies and storage

PixelDodo sets no cookies. To keep your work for next time, the editors use your browser's own storage, on your device. Here is all of it.

Cookies

PixelDodo sets no cookies: no login, analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and none from social media.

The site is delivered through Cloudflare. If Cloudflare suspects automated traffic it can set a strictly necessary security cookie (such as __cf_bm, which lasts 30 minutes, or cf_clearance after a check) to tell people from bots. These hold no personal profile; see Cloudflare's cookie list.

When the Photo editor downloads a font from Google Fonts, or its subject finder from jsDelivr and IMG.LY, or its depth finder from jsDelivr and Hugging Face (see the privacy policy), those downloads set no cookies of ours.

Browser storage

Browsers give each site a private place to keep things on your device: localStorage for small settings, IndexedDB for bigger things such as your designs and videos, and a service worker that can answer when you are offline. Only pages on pixeldodo.com can read what PixelDodo keeps there, and it is never sent to us: it does not travel with your requests the way cookies do.

Everything we keep

Everything below stays until you delete it (in the editor, or by clearing the site's data) or your browser clears it to free space.

WhereKindNameWhat it holds
Whole sitelocalStoragepd-stripThat you closed the "what's new" strip on the home page, so it stays closed.
ScreenshotslocalStorageshots-settings, shots-panel, shots-presets, shots-logoHow you last framed a picture (frame, background, colours, recent colours), how the side panel was laid out, your saved looks, and a watermark logo if you add one. Never the screenshot itself.
ScreenshotsIndexedDBshots-workThe picture you are working on: its screenshots, the pictures you added to it and what you drew, so it is there next time. Start over removes it.
PhotoIndexedDBphoto-editorYour designs (pages, layers, the pictures in them, a thumbnail, a song and videos or GIFs if you added them), the versions kept of each design, your brand kit, your own templates and Your uploads (the pictures you added, to use again in any design).
PhotolocalStoragenames starting photo-Settings: download choices, rulers, saved looks, actions, your brush, the last template category, recently used things and fonts, the start screen's filter, the last passport photo and print sheet choices, the name you put on comments and similar.
VideoIndexedDBvideo-editorYour projects, a copy of every file you added and anything you recorded, and your own stickers.
VideolocalStoragenames starting video-Settings: panel sizes and folds, favourites, looks, presets, recent emoji, the teleprompter and similar.
SketchIndexedDBsketchYour drawings, their layers and time-lapses, the brush pictures and fonts you added, and your saved elements.
SketchlocalStoragenames starting sketch-Brushes and your changes to them, tool sizes, colour, palettes, gestures and other settings.
VectorIndexedDBvectorYour documents: their artboards, layers, shapes, the pictures placed in them and a thumbnail.
VectorIndexedDBvector-versionsVersions of your documents that you chose to keep (Version history): a copy of the document and a thumbnail each. Delete one in the same window.
VectorlocalStoragevector-prefsSettings: snapping, rulers, tool settings (sides, points, smoothness), recent colours, download choices, the actions you recorded and, on phones, how you left the panel (its height, folded sections).
Photo LabIndexedDBlab-libraryYour library: a copy of every photo you imported (for a RAW file, the photo developed from it on your device, or the JPEG inside it), a small copy and the edited look of each for the grid, its settings, history, snapshots, stars, flags, labels and albums, and the subjects and skies its masks found.
Photo LablocalStoragenames starting lab-Your presets, copied settings, the last edited photo's settings (for Previous), export choices, the last import, and how you left the view (sort, picture size, open sections).
Photo LabCache storagephoto-shareFor a moment only: the photo that Edit in Photo hands to the Photo editor. Photo removes it as it opens it.
Whole siteService worker/sw.jsShows a "you're offline" page when there is no connection. It keeps no copy of the site or your work.

Why there is no cookie banner

Privacy laws ask for consent before a site stores things on your device, except when the storage is strictly necessary for something you asked for. Everything above is: it is how an editor keeps the work and settings you made, or (for Cloudflare's cookie) how the site stays secure. Nothing is used to follow you, measure you or show you ads, so there is nothing to agree to.

How to clear it

  • One item: delete a design, project or drawing in its editor.
  • Everything: in your browser, open the site settings for pixeldodo.com (in Chrome, the icon left of the address, then Site settings › Delete data; in Safari, Settings › Privacy › Manage Website Data) and remove its data.
  • Download first: clearing removes your work for good, and we have no copy. Download anything you want to keep.
  • A private or incognito window keeps nothing after you close it.
